Sylvia studied visual communication design at Middlesex University in London, UK, graduating in 1995. She returned to Singapore and began her career in design consultancy, focusing on brand identity, editorial design and environmental branding. In 1996, she relocated to Kuala Lumpur, where she worked at Momentum Design as design director, and at the Axis Identity Group as design director and business lead at their Branding subsidiary.

She returned to Singapore in 2008 where she resumes her branding métier in projects with United Overseas Bank, DBS Private Equity, Meydan in Dubai and the Dubai Racing Club. She joined Green House Design + Communications in 2011 as creative lead and was involved in client relationship management in various brand identity and editorial projects. Her interest in education led her to assume a role as Head of Art at Temasek Polytechnic. In 2016, she established her own studio, Sylvsin Design.

Sylvia’s exhaustive experience in creative direction and client service management allows her to bridge the two realms seamlessly. Clients include hotels and restaurants, financial services, the public sector, retail and entertainment, hospitality, real estate developments, and educational institutions.

Her clients include The Centre for Liveable Cities, Ministry of National Development, Urban Redevelopment Authority, The Ritz Carlton, Genting Group, American Express, Great Eastern Assurance, Emaar Dubai, SingEx, to name a few. She has spearheaded numerous signage projects as both project manager and creative lead, including Singapore Institute of Technology, The Ascott, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, The Curve Mall, Wisma Selangor Dredging, Horizon Towers, and the Burj Business Park in Dubai. Her work encompasses brand identity, logo design, editorial design, infographic design, and wayfinding systems.

With her keen interest in food for sustenance and sports recovery, Sylvia has also pursued academic studies in human nutrition. She is an avid rock climber and trains for her next problem.
